For your convenience, CHILDREN'S BOOKS has been divided into developmental stages of childhood.  Each book is reviewed and is followed by a list of the author's other favorite titles.  Go to JEANNE'S PICKS to see reviews and order any of the author's additional books.   

The children's books in "Ages Birth to 2" are for infants and toddlers.  Most of the titles are sturdy board books and contain alot of rhyme and repetition to support the child's language development.  Some of the story lines are cumulative and all can be easily memorized by children.

The children's books in "Ages 3 to 5" are for preschoolers.  These picture books have more language, are longer and the story line has a beginning, middle and end.  Some of the titles are based on educational concepts appropriate for the age level.

The children's books in "Ages 6 to 8" are for school age children.  The picture books have more sophisticated topics as story lines.  The beginning readers have controlled vocabulary and the chapter books are great read alouds for the transition into books that take more than one reading to finish.
