EARLY LITERACY DEVELOPMENT

Reading aloud children's books should begin in infancy to help build the skills for a child's success in reading.  A child’s attitude towards reading is crucial to their success as an independent reader.  One of the great benefits of reading educational children's books aloud, is to create a child who wants to read , just for the love of reading.

Baby Bear, Baby Bear What Do You See?

We will review wonderful books appropriate for a child's developmental stages, starting with infants then going on to toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and the early elementary grades.  The board and picture books for infants and toddlers will be filled with words that rhyme, are repetitive and stories that are cumulative. For 3-6 year olds, we will review books with enticing stories that your child will want to hear over and over again.  We'll, also, show you educational toys that help teach the skills that a young child develops as part of the process of learning how to read.  Fun educational books, toys, games and activities are a great way for you and your emergent reader to have a quality interactive and fun learning time together.
